Applied pigments absorb deeply into the raw newsprint matrix. When front lit, metallics are amazingly fluid and exquisitly highlighted.
Colors appear deeper and darker in hue because of the absorbsion factor. When backlit, the opposite effect occurs. Metallics transform into darker, opaque tones and the colors become absolutely electric and full of energy.
Newsprint creations are often encapsulated to add thickness and protection when used for suspensions, lampshades and other backlit applications.
